After a long period of silence, I thought I should explain the status of Boise Fashion Index and the one behind it.

There is a new store replacing an old store in Nampa and it will be owned and operated by yours truly. The White Pine Boutique now sits in the former location of the departed Sparrow Clothing. I will keep my description brief because I never intended for B.F.I. to be a platform for any personal endeavors.

The White Pine is a clothing store for men, women, and kids. The goal is to provide affordable eco-friendly, ethical, locally made, and inspiring clothes, gifts, and accessories. We want our store to be on par with larger corporate stores while still presenting everything with care and attention to the smaller things as a boutique would. We are attempting to make it as easy as possible to shop locally.

The store carries the well known lines Toms, Alternative, and DownEastBasics and the lesser known lines Super Lucky Cat, MFSC, and many others. It is also an outlet for local crafters, artists, and designers to sell their work. This is done by selling select local wares and hosting monthly trunk and craft shows.

We’ll be celebrating our Grand Opening Thursday, September 18th with a fashion show and specials throughout the store Thursday and Friday. The fashion show starts at 7PM.

On to Boise Fashion Index, I hope to keep it going. I still strongly believe there is a need for a source of information on Boise’s fashion and arts culture. I will be incredibly busy running a store but once things start running smoothly, I will be back with news, interviews, and street snaps.
